Let's Catch Up!

Let’s catch up!

Wow! What a wonderful few weeks I have had. June 9th was my outdoor gig at Stubbs Insurance as part of the ‘Taste of Wernersville’ event. It was a beautiful day. Several folks attended and many more were passing through briefly as they got off and on the Trolley. What fun! While I was singing I could see a bluebird sitting on a fence and flying to the tree and back to the fence. It was a warm sunny day with a delightful breeze that at times was strong enough to move the canopy we were all under. That made for a bit of excitement during one song! After my set, Amanda Lyn took the stage. Amanda is a 17 year old singer/songwriter who is also one of my students. Amanda and her sister Jessie performed from 1-3 a great set of music with wonderful harmonies.

The following week my English Mum visited for a few days. We had a marvelous time showing her the local sights. We took her to the Reading Pagoda and shopping in West Reading. Ladies, have you been to ‘Shoo!’ in West Reading? This shoe boutique is Amazing! We had a blast looking at all of the beautiful and outrageous shoes there. One pair of boots there even glows in the dark! Victoria, one of the owners, took us all into the dark restroom so we could see the boots glowing. What fun! Mum went home with GREAT stories to tell. Of course I found a pair of shoes to purchase – not the glow in the dark boots! – A very classy pair of black heels. I think I need to have another ‘Glamorous Shoe Gig’!  We also took Mum to Longwood Gardens to see the splendid ‘Light’ display they have running from now until the end of September. British artist, Bruce Munro, created stunning installations using blown glass and fiber optics. It is really indescribable. A MUST SEE!

I have also been busy teaching. Several new students joined me for summer lessons. I still have a few slots open so if you have been harboring a secret dream of learning to sing, don’t wait any longer. Call me today and let’s make your dream come true. I was recently gifted with a beautiful print that says, ‘The Great Woods would be very quiet if no birds sang but those that sang best’ That is so true. It is not about becoming the best singer, but finding your own voice and always, always, finding joy in the music.

Thanks for reading and for supporting my music. Best wishes for a wonderful summer season. Hope to see you July 20th at Javateas for a ‘flower power’ themed gig!

Love & fireflies,

Jennifer
