A Season of Kindness

During this challenging time, I want to remind you to be kind to yourself. Life is changing so quickly and so drastically, it is ok to take time to grieve the loss of normalcy. It is ok to acknowledge your sadness and fear. Take some time to really check in with your body, mind and spirit.

Difficult situations like this are a tremendous opportunity for growth. We can aspire to grow in patience for our quarantined family or for our stressed out co-workers. We can grow in compassion and reach out to those in need. I can't tell you how much it has meant to me to have folks randomly checking in with me. Friends, family, and clients have all lifted my spirits just by asking me if I am ok, and if I need anything. And although I am facing challenges beyond what any one person could mend for me, and maybe you are too, it still made a world of difference to receive these expressions of care and concern. It also helped remind me to reach out to others. Since it meant so much to me, surely I could do the same for others. Instead of being overwhelmed by the struggles ahead and the constant weight of uncertainty, I started sending out postcards to friends just to brighten up their mailbox and to let them know I care. It is a small thing but we can all do something, and together we can do anything.

It is my most heartfelt wish that when we get to the other side of this, and we WILL get to the other side, that we will look back upon this time as a season of kindness. A time when we reached out to help others and joined together in one global community, recognizing our shared humanity and lifting each other up by making kindness our most sacred mission.

Love and light,

Jennifer
