Accidental Egg Hunt

I want to share with you what I think is a funny story about how I ended up participating in an accidental egg hunt on a quarantined Easter Sunday.

With all these days and nights blending one into the other in my solitary quarantine, I still remembered that it was Easter. So when I woke up, I sent a few "Happy Easter" messages to friends that I knew would be observing Easter, and then I went about my day as usual, with the same blend of working on Yoga Club curriculum, reading, marketing, housework and packing, on a continuous loop. So for me, beyond those morning texts, it was just another day in quarantine.

However, sometime in the early evening I received a text message from a friend that said, "Look outside your door for goodies!!! Sending Love!!"

Wow... I wondered what it could be?? So I got my long black coat out of the closet, to hide the fact from neighbors' eyes that I was still in my pajamas at 4:30pm .... #truth ... and took a cautious step outside to find out what kind of goodies would be there. When I opened the door the first thing I saw was that my walkway was decorated in chalk with messages of love and of Happy Easter. What a great surprise!! But that wasn't all... there was also a bag beside the door. Inside the bag was a carefully packaged Easter dinner and an Easter basket filled with goodies! Wow... it has been many years since I had a visit from the Easter Bunny.... haha... so I was feeling like a kid again. I set the basket on the piano bench that doubles as a coffee table, and took the food to the kitchen. After carefully putting all the food containers away, I came back to the sofa to resume the work I had been doing, but somehow, as I walked past the bench/table, I accidentally knocked over the Easter basket and all the contents went sprawling across the floor. No big deal, I just got down on my hands and knees and started to collect the goodies and return them to the basket. That's when I realized, as I was crawling around my living-room searching for the eggs and treats, that I was participating in an accidental egg hunt!

It really made me laugh and feel like a kid again as I filled the basket back up with all the goodies.

Life gives us these gifts, of dear friends and unexpected moments and laughter amid the darkness. Its beautiful. Life is beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my accidental egg hunt as much as I enjoyed being a kid again for a little while today.

Love and Light,

Jennifer
